Dramatic B&W

I am new to joining this group, sounds like lots of fun! Love the challenge and push of learning new things.
Here's my edit of a dramatic B&W for this week.

This is my daughter, she was wanting to go outside but it had just finished raining and everything was wet. I know the sliders were flithy, but that's what happens with 4 kids, everything is well loved!

1. Pink Tone layer: Add a solid color fill layer with #eeb395 (a pinkish color) and put that layer into Overlay blending mode, 100% opacity.

2. Pink Haze layer: Add a solid color fill layer as above (#eeb395) and put that layer in Screen blending mode, 50% opacity.

3. Color Mute layer: Click on your foreground color swatch and change it to #eeb395and make the background swatch white. Add a Gradient Map adjustment layer with pink to white and put that layer in Color blending mode, 50% opacity.

4. Ctrl J the background layer and drag up to the top and adjust opacity as you like.

Then I cropped in!
Viola!

Here's one more I did on my sweetie Gretchen!!

I Heart Faces Constructive Fridays

This is my first post for constructive criticism on a picture! I am trying to learn more and more everyday. So this is my pick for the week. I would love your thoughts and comments. This is a picture of my Best Friends Brand New little girl. I took it yesterday, I got to be there for the birth, which was amazing!

I use a Nikon D80 and used my Tamron 18-200 lens on manual. I use PSE6 for editing.

This shot is SOOC.

For this image I just used the adjustment gradient map layer and then added text.
